Colposcopy

If your Pap test (which is a test for cancerous cells on the cervix) is not normal, a special test called colposopy may be recommended.  This is a test that looks at your cervix with a microscope.  During the test, biopsies (samples) may be taken so your tissue can be examined further at a laboratory.  The results are reviewd by a clinician and you may be asked to return to the clinic for a LEEP, which removes abnormal tissue.

Colposcopy is offered in the Fort Madison clinic.  Click for more information on colposcopy and LEEP.
