PPSFL provides many essential services to the diverse communities we serve.

Health Services
We are fortunate to have dedicated, experienced, professional medical staff located in Elmira, Corning, Hornell, Watkins Glen, and Ithaca serving thousands of women, men, and teens each year.  PPSFL offers a wide variety of comprehensive and confidential health services.
Sliding Fee Scale
To ensure that our medical services are accessible to anyone who needs them, we welcome Medicaid patients and we offer discounts based on family income; no one is ever turned away because they cannot afford to pay.  We are the only medical provider many of our patients see from year to year.  State and Title X federal funding helps to pay for our sliding fee scale, but our annual fundraising campaign, which yields 12% of our revenues, is necessary in order to meet the full need for subsidized services. We also welcome insured patients, whose insurance reimbursements also help us to provide services to the uninsured.
Sexuality Education and Training
Our professional sexuality educators and trainers provided honest, medically accurate, age-appropriate programs and information to more than 8,400 people in 2010.  We provide our education and training services to schools, community groups, churches and communities of faith, college residence halls, and places of business.  We work with young people, the professionals who serve them, families, college students, and community members.  Our Education Department strives to make many of its services available at no cost so that students, school health educators, guidance counselors, and social workers can take full advantage of their expertise.
Public Affairs
In our Public Affairs department, grassroots organizing is a top priority as we seek to build our political effectiveness in an era dominated by an anti-choice Congress and administration.  Our goal is to build a vibrant grassroots network that is so much fun, so effective, so active, and so respected that our united pro-choice voice makes a clear difference in policy regarding sexual health and reproductive rights.
Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC)
Through a small staff and a large network of trained volunteers, Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC)  maintains a 24-hour hotline and provides immediate assistance day or night to victims of sexual assault. Our SARC program provides the referrals, information and guidance sexual assault survivors need to begin to rebuild their lives; and we often accompany them through the impersonal and confusing legal system.  Educational programs for students, professionals, and community members are aimed at improving community awareness of, and opposition to, sexual violence.  All SARC services are available at no cost.
