Positively Speaking is one of Planned Parenthood of Santa Barbara, Ventura & San Luis Obispo Counties most established and widely requested presentations.  Presenters, who received extensive specialized training, share personal stories that offer a unique opportunity for students to hear the life experiences of men and women living with HIV/AIDS, bringing a personal dimension to prevention education. The program builds compassion and promotes collaboration between health agencies and schools.

Positively Speaking presenters come from diverse and multi-cultural backgrounds. Programs are offered in a variety of classroom settings including health, science, physical education, English/ Language arts and history/ social science.

The Positively Speaking program is supported by local school districts through implementing mandated HIV/AIDS education through presentations made by HIV/AIDS positive speakers or loved ones affected by the disease.
