Professional Training

PPNNE's Education and Training Department is going green!  In an effort to be more ecologically and environmentally responsible, we are now publishing our calendar electronically. To receive information and updates about our trainings electronically, please send your name and email address to heatherw@ppnne.org.  The complete 2009 Professional Training Calendar will be available on the PPNNE website in January 2009.

By eliminating the printing of our traditional paper calendar, PPNNE's Education Department is:

  • saving 6 million BTUs of energy, including electricity and all forms of fuel consumed to produce a given amount of paper (the average American household uses approx. 7.5 million BTUs a month to meet all of its energy needs).
  • saving 2,592 gallons of water that would have been used to treat and discharge a papermill's receiving waters.
  • saving 397 lbs. of sludge and other wastes generated during pulp and paper manufacturing.
  • saving the addition of 1,107 lbs. of CO2 and other greenhouse gases to the atmosphere (the average car emits 918 lbs. of CO2 a month).
  • saving 3 trees.

Environmental impact estimates were made using the Environmental Defense Fund Paper Calculator.

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England has been providing high-quality training to professionals on various issues related to sexuality for over 25 years. Through our trainings, professionals--such as teachers, therapists, social workers, counselors, clergy, and other youth-serving professionals--acquire the skills, knowledge, support and confidence to address the sensitive topic of sexuality with their students or clients.

PPNNEs award-winning Education Department is committed to creating an environment where everyone's sexuality is respected, protected and positively expressed.

"I loved the [training] and would recommend it to anyone wanting to expand their ideas, emotions, and feelings about their sexuality"

"The staff was phenomenal - very well educated about topics, knowledgeable and personable...Thank you for this wonderful experience and keep up the good work!"

"Thank you!  I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn information that will improve everything that I do from here on out...This was far and away the most valuable thing I have done as an educator."
