NH Defunds Planned Parenthood

UPDATE! The New Hampshire Executive Council voted to reject a routine contract renewal with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.  Now PPNNE will no longer receive federal or state funds for critical health care services.

Already, 2459 women have been denied access to essential
preventive services because of the Executive Council’s rash decision.

Call on the Executive Council to renew Planned Parenthood’s contract so New Hampshire women and families will have access to health care they depend on. Let them know that you stand with Planned Parenthood and the men, women and families they serve.

1) Call your Executive Councilor and ask them to renew the Planned Parenthood contract as soon as possible!

Councilor Raymond S. Burton- District 1- (603) 747-3662
Councilor Daniel St. Hilaire- District 2- (603) 568-5515
Councilor Christopher T. Sununu- District 3- (603) 271-3632
Councilor Raymond J. Wieczorek-  District 4- (603) 624-1655
Councilor David K. Wheeler- District 5- (603) 672-6062

2) Sign our petition calling for the Executive Council to Renew Planned Parenthood’s contract.

3) Email the Councilors who voted against renewing the contract and let them know why you depend on Planned Parenthood.

Executive Councilor Daniel St. Hilaire issued a statement filled with misinformation about Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and our work in the region. While Councilors Wheeler and Wieczorek also voted against all family planning contracts, Councilor St. Hilaire took the lead in targeting Planned Parenthood because of the abortion services provided.

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England has been providing health care to women, men, and families in New Hampshire for over 30 years.  This reckless vote denies basic health care services – annual gynecological exams, cancer screenings, birth control, and testing and treatment for STIs to more than 15,000 residents across the state.  It also threatens the continued operations of Planned Parenthood health centers in Claremont, Derry, Exeter, Keene, Manchester and West Lebanon.
