Sexuality includes how we experience intimacy, touch, and love, and it affects how we feel about ourselves and everyone around us. Our sexuality should be a positive and healthy expression of who we are.
We firmly believe that individuals deserve to obtain knowledge about their physical, emotional, and social development regarding sexuality, and that all individuals have the freedom to learn about these things in an atmosphere that is nonjudgmental and free of fear, shame, and exploitation.
PPNNE's Education and Training Department helps to make our beliefs a reality by focusing on three areas:
Professional Training
Planned Parenthood of Northern New England has been providing high-quality training to professionals on various issues related to sexuality for over 25 years. The workshops, conferences, and trainings are pivotal to supporting the mission of PPNNE.
For Parents
PPNNE believes that parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children, but we also understand that some parents are uncomfortable talking with their kids about sex. Learn what you can do to make sure your child gets the information and services s/he needs to make healthy, responsible decisions about sex and sexuality.
For Teens
We are dedicated to protecting the sexual health of all teenagers by providing them with accurate information, the opportunities to explore and establish beliefs and attitudes, and the skills required to communicate their needs.
Custom Training
PPNNE Educators have a solid reputation and expertise in designing personalized inservices, trainings, and consultations to meet the specific needs of teachers, administrators, parents, and students.
Community Outreach
We provide direct outreach and education to teens all over New Hampshire, Vermont, and southern Maine. Our award-winning educators specialize in classroom or small-group presentations for youth.
PPNNE's Education and Training Department is going green! In an effort to be more ecologically and environmentally responsible, we are now publishing our annual training calendar online [link to 7.1.1].
