About Our Education Department
Planned Parenthood of Northern New England believes that our sexuality is a fundamental part of being human, and that sexual development begins at birth and continues throughout our lives. Sexuality includes how we experience intimacy, touch, and love, and it affects how we feel about ourselves and everyone around us. Our sexuality should be a positive and healthy expression of who we are.
We firmly believe that individuals deserve to obtain knowledge about their physical, emotional, and social development regarding sexuality, and that all individuals have the freedom to learn about these things in an atmosphere that is nonjudgmental and free of fear, shame, and exploitation.
PPNNE's Education and Training Department helps to make our beliefs a reality by focusing on three areas:
- training youth-serving professionals around issues of sexuality
- providing direct outreach and education with teens
- offering education and support to parents
