Workshops

PPNEO offers workshops and training opportunites to community members and professionals on reproductive health and human sexuality topics. Our workshops are tailored to meet a variety of needs and teach solid skills in sexual health promotion and effective strategies for providing responsible sex education to their audiences. Ideal participants include parents, caregivers, social workers, counselors, teachers, health educators, medical professionals, case managers, family planning professionals, and other service providers. Registration is usually on a first-come, first-serve basis and some fees may apply, so please register early.

Many of our programs offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as well as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credits for professionals. PPNEO's Community Outreach and Education Specialists are also experienced trainers of CDC-approved curricula including Safer Choices, Be Proud! Be Responsible!, and Reducing the Risk, Many Men Many Voices, and Focus on Youth. 

PATTHS (Parents are Teaching and Talking about Healthy Sexuality) is a program that offers a variety of trainings for community and parent groups. The following workshops are available:

  • What shoud your children be learning - Comprehensve or Abstinence-only sexual health education?
  • How to talk to your kids abou sexual health
  • Are your children at risk?  Understanding SexuallyTransmitted Infectins (STIs)
  • Are your Children at risk? Understanding Pregnancy Prevention
  • What about the Boys?
  • What's On?  Sex and the Media
  • What's Love Got to Do with It?  Teen Relationships

"On The Road" training is offered by our educators and trainers who go to your location and work with your staff to create a program specific to your needs and concerns.  Workshops include:

  • Addressing Sexual Responsibility: Working with Youth
  • Understanding Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
  • It's HIP (Health, Information, and Prevention)
  • What about the Boys?
  • What's Love Got to Do with It? Teen Relationships
  • What's On?  Sex and the Media
