PATTHS
Parents Are Teaching and Talking about Healthy Sexuality
View Current PATTHS Workshops
We know that talking to your kids can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. But we also realize that without the proper information, children can be at risk for sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies. PATTHS will help you speak to your children honestly about sexuality, and to use techniques to improve communication.
The PATTHS program offers a variety of trainings for community and parent groups. The goal of this program is to build capacity in the community for parents to provide guidance to youth on comprehensive sexuality education. PATTHS will help parents speak to their children honestly about sexuality and reproduction. Workshops are aimed at parents, foster parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children ages 5 - 18.
After this program, parents will be able to:
• Articulate values on dating, relationships, and sexuality • Recognize various aspects of human sexuality • Use "teachable moments" to discuss developmental and physcial changes • Explain answers to difficult questions • Collect community resources and information
