On the Road

Are you in need of professional development for your staff around issues of sexual health? If so, you may want to check out our "On The Road" trainings. We call it "On The Road" because our educators and trainers come to your location and work with your staff to create a program specific to your needs and concerns.  Whether for a staff meeting or retreat, our skilled educators and trainers can help build the capacity of your staff to speak to your clients about reproductive and sexual health topics.

Some of our most requested trainings include:

Addressing Sexual Responsibility: Working With Youth

This is an educational opportunity for professionals working with youth such as social workers, teachers, youth and community center staff, coaches, and other youth groups facilitators.  The goal for the session is to increase confidence and strengthen communication skills through interactive knowledge and skill-building activities.  Topics include: encouraging youth to postpone sexual intercourse; birth control and pregnancy prevention; sexually transmitted infections including HIV; sexuality and the media; sexual assault prevention; and dating and relationships.

Understanding Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

This session will focus on common STIs, including HIV. Participants will discuss symptoms, treatments, and prevention information. Focus will be put on the STIs that have the highest transmission rates among teens and their treatments.

It’s HIP! (Health, Information, and Prevention)

This workshop will provide updated information on common birth control  including various methods, usage, and effectiveness.  Discussion will focus on abstinence as a preferred method for youth.

What about the Boys?

This workshop will provide information on male gender identity, stereotypes, and the struggles of young males that are often overlooked when discussing sexual health and family planning. This program will help professionals working with young boys approach the topic of male responsibility and guide young boys toward becoming young men.

What’s On? Sex and the Media

This workshop provides participants with information and skills to identify the effects of the media on society’s views about sexuality and relationships.  Includes suggestions for using media literacy to positively impact teen behaviors.

What’s Love Got to Do with It? Teen Relationships

Through hands-on activities and thoughtful, facilitated discussions, this workshop provides information and insight for adults on issues related to teen dating relationships, dating violence, and sexual assault.
