Education & Outreach

Planned Parenthood is a leading source of medically accurate sexualty education and information in our local Northeast Ohio communities. We have a vision for the future in which sexuality will be understood as an essential, lifelong aspect of being human that is celebrated with respect, openness and mutuality. Whether you're a pre-teen, a teen, a young adult, a parent or a mature adult, Planned Parenthood believes sexuality should be a positive and healthy expression of who we are and that having healthy attitudes about sexuality will have a profoundly positive impact on our families, our communities, and our world.

To assist individuals, families and professionals, Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio provides these education programs and resources in our communities:

  • Age appropriate, comprehensive, abstinence-based sexuality education for youth of all ages in school and community settings.
  • Workshops, materials and programs for parents and caregivers interested in learning about how to talk to their children about sexuality and sexual health.
  • Training programs for professionals, educators and social service agencies that serve youth and at-risk populations.
  • Resource libraries in every community with a diverse selection of books, video and brochures available for public use.

Sexuality includes how we experience intimacy, touch and love, and if affects how we feel about ourselves and everyone around us. Education is the key to making informed decisions in life, especially about sexuality. Through community education, Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio provides people with facts about their bodies and their health because women and men of all ages deserve access to knowledge about their physical, emotional, and social development regarding sexuality, as well as the freedom to learn about these things in an atmosphere that is nonjudgmental and free of fear, shame and exploitation.
