Surgical Abortion

Planned Parenthood believes in your right to decide the best course for your pregnancy. If you choose to terminate your pregnancy, we can provide a safe, surgical abortion.

PPNCB provides surgical abortions through 13 weeks, 6 days of pregnancy. You will receive an ultrasound to determine the gestational age of your pregnancy prior to the procedure. The surgical abortion itself takes just a few minutes. However, you can expect to be at our clinic for three to six hours, depending upon the time of your appointment, how far along you are in your pregnancy and other factors.

Medications are provided to make you more comfortable. Most women experience cramping similar to strong menstrual cramps during and after the procedure. You will spend 30 to 60 minutes in a comfortable recovery area where a nurse will monitor your progress.
