Emergency Contraception (EC)

Emergency contraception (also called EC or the morning-after pill) can help prevent pregnancy if taken within 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex. EC is available on a walk-in basis at health centers in Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs. A medical history will be taken, but a pelvic exam is not required.

EC is a special combination of birth control pills that is administered within 120 hours (five days) of unprotected sex. It may prevent pregnancy in 98 out of 100 women and will not harm an existing pregnancy. EC-to-Go kits are available for women to keep at home... just in case.
