Birth Control: Pills, Condoms, Dep-Provera, etc.



Planned Parenthood offers a variety of birth control methods, including abstinence information, birth control pills, injection, patch, ring, IUDs, condoms, spermicides, diaphrams, and emergency contraception.

Before choosing a method of birth control, each patient is provided with information about the advantages and special requirements of each type. Information and services are provided for the following methods of birth control:

  • abstinence
  • fertility awareness
  • hormonal contraception:
    • birth control pills
    • injections (like Depo-Provera®)
    • patch (like Ortho Evra®)
    • ring (like NuvaRing®)
    • insertion (like Implanon®)
    • others (including Norplant® removal)
  • IUDs
  • condoms
  • spermicides (foam, cream & gel)
  • diaphragms
  • emergency contraception

Birth control supplies can be picked up at any health center. Birth control pills and spermicides can be mailed monthly when you sign up for Bill-A-Pill. Condoms are available at all health centers on a walk-in basis.
