Planned Parenthood is raising awareness about rape, sexual assault, and how you can help prevent sexual violence.

April 12th, Anatomy of Rape

Get a behind-the-scenes look at profiling a predator, forensics, interview techniques, victim impact, and burden of proof from local experts Detective Sergeant Owen Fuhs of the Amsterdam Police Department and Veronica Parks of Montgomery County Sexual Assault Support Services.


April 14th, A Survivor's Story

12:30 p.m. Fulton-Montgomery Community College, theater

Author of Intended Harm, Jurney Eve shares her poignant story of surviving abduction and sexual assault as a 17-year-old, and how this experience shaped her life.


April 14th,Mock Trial

1 p.m. Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, Performing Arts Center

7 p.m. SUNY Cobleskill, Bouck Hall

The audience decides the fate of the accused in a Mock Rape Trial. In an interactive event that replicates the emotional proceedings of a rape trial, audience members serve as the jury with participation from local law enforcement officers, judges, prosecutors, students and members of the community. A powerful educational tool, mock rape trials offer a glimpse into the judicial system.

April 28th, Take Back the Night

7 p.m. Candlelight Vigil at SUNY Cobleskill, outside Bouck Hall

Please join us in a candlelight vigil dedicated to support those who have experienced sexual violence. A male and female speaker will share their experience, strength, and hope.
