The program is designed for youth in 7th-9th grades.
Take It Seriously: Sex, Abstinence & Media (TISSAM) teaches adolescents in grades 7-9 how to become sophisticated consumers of media, emphasizing the benefits of abstinence as a means to prevent unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. This program is highly interactive and engages youth from the minute it begins. One in four sexually-active teens will acquire a sexually transmitted disease. Many of these diseases can have major lifelong health consequences.
The TISSAM program is a unique program developed with the help of high school students from across the state.
