Hi! We’re so glad you found Planned Parenthood. Our name says that we’re committed to your parenting—at every step in life. That means supporting your choice to become a parent at the right time for you. And then helping you in this challenging, wonderful—sometimes confusing—role.
At each stage in your and your children’s lives, we’re here with resources to empower you to:
Be a Healthy Role Model
Taking care of yourself gives you the foundation to support your children.
- Stay well with regular primary and reproductive health care from our Bay Area Health Centers.
- Reach for help when you need it—with relationships, emotional health, substance abuse. Our PreventionFirst counselors can connect you with resources for a healthier life.
Be a Trusted Guide
Children look to their parents first with their questions about values and behaviors—especially when it comes to sex and sexuality.
- Understand what children need and want to know at every age to have healthy attitudes about their bodies, their relationships, and their sexuality.
- Get the facts from our up-to-date Health Topics. Be open to conversations with your kids—and start them yourself! We can help you be a relaxed, ready, and confident teacher.
Be a Strong Support
Supporting your children means understanding their pressures and risks. Did you know that in America:
- One out of every four girls between 14 and 19 has a sexually transmitted infection (STI): trichomoniasis, genital herpes, chlamydia, or human papillomavirus?
- Before reaching age 20, 31% of teenage girls have an unintended pregnancy?
- And a sexually active teen not using contraception has a 90% chance of an unintended pregnancy within a year?
That’s why we focus so many resources on youth—and why we want to act as your partner in supporting their health.
At PPGG, we believe that sexual responsibility and good decision making begin with comprehensive sex education. We provide accurate, in-depth information and a full range of contraceptive choices, including emergency contraception, to help teens have healthy relationships and prevent unintended pregnancies. We work hard to spread our “Safe is Sexy” message everywhere young people listen.
Just as important, our safe, friendly teen-only clinics are open every week, at six PPGG health centers. All reproductive health care services—including annual exams, STD testing and treatment, and birth control services—are low cost and protected by strict privacy practices. We answer every question, treat all teens with respect, and support their ability to make well-informed decisions about their health and future.
We all want the best future for every child. Reach for what you need at PPGG: we’re the trusted partner for parents.
