H1N1 Swine Flu Alert

H1N1 swine flu is caused by a virus. It is spread from person to person when someone coughs or sneezes. People can also get it by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it. You cannot get swine flu from pigs or from eatng pork. 

H1N1 swine flu symptoms are the same as seasonal flu symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Stuffy nose
  • Chills
  • Headaches and body aches
  • Fatigue
  • Vomiting and diarrhea

Emergency warning signs: 

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Pain or pressure in chest or abdomen
  • Sudden dizziness
  • Confusion
  • Severe or persistent vomiting

If you have any of the above symptoms:

  • Check with your primary health care doctor if you feel very ill or are not improving. If PPGG is you primary provider, please call 1-800-967-7526 for further assistance.
  • Please let us know your symptoms when calling to scheduling an appointment at a PPGG health center. If you already have an appointment scheduled at PPGG and are experiencing these symptoms, let us know before your visit by calling 1-800-967-7526.
