Why do I receive so much mail from Planned Parenthood?
Chances are you’re receiving mail from us, your local Planned Parenthood, as well as Planned Parenthood’s national office. Read the next question to learn the difference!

What's the difference between Planned Parenthood Golden Gate and Planned Parenthood Federation of America?
Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG) is your local Planned Parenthood organization, while Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the national umbrella organization.

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate - the local organization: 

  • Gifts support local clinical services, education, and advocacy programs in Alameda, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Sonoma counties in California
  • 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization
  • Tax exempt 
  • a direct health care provider to over 55,000 women, men and teens

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) - the national office:

  • Gifts support national medical, communications, legal, and public affairs work
  • 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization
  • Tax exempt 
  • National resource for policymakers, media, and health care providers

I want to give online to support my local community, which option do I select to ensure my gifts goes to PPGG?

  • Under your gift amount, select "Local."

What’s the difference between Planned Parenthood and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund?
Within Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, there are two distinct organizations that serve our local community:

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG): 

  • Gifts support local clinical services, education, and advocacy programs (gifts are tax deductible).
  • 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit  organization
  • Tax exempt 
  • A direct health care provider to over 55,000 men, women, and teens

PPGG Action Fund (PPGG AF): 

  • Gifts support educating the public and elected officials about issues related to reproductive health and freedom and working to elect pro-choice local and national candidates (gifts are not tax deductible).
  • 501(c)(4) organization 
  • Independent
  • Non-partisan
  • Not-for-profit

How do I update my address?

  • Change your mailing address by email us at pmartin@ppgg.org. Include your old address, new address, and the date your address will change.
