Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette is the largest non-profit family planning and reproductive rights organization in Oregon. Since 1963, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette has been committed to delivering the highest quality health care, teaching responsible and age-appropriate sexuality education and protecting a woman's right to choose.

 

Medical Services
Each year, more than 56,000 women, men and teens visit our ten health centers located in Portland, Beaverton, Gresham, Clackamas, Salem, McMinnville, Bend, and Vancouver, Washington. Our expert team of caring physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses provides a wide range of health care services, including: low-cost contraceptives, emergency contraception, annual gynecological check-ups, sterilizations (for men and women), breast exams, cervical cancer detection and treatment, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy testing and options counseling, first term abortion care, and referral for prenatal care, parenting and adoption.

Although we are a non-profit organization specializing in low-cost services, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette strives to provide the latest in healthcare technology for our patients. In 2003, we were the first Planned Parenthood affiliate to begin offering Essure® -- a new non-surgical female sterilization method. We've also initiated several new on-line services. Our patients may now make an appointment, order emergency contraception, and order contraceptive supplies over the Internet.

Education Programs
Our team of trained educators provides sexuality education programs to nearly 10,000 youth and their parents annually in Portland, Salem and Bend. Our goal is to provide young people with the tools that they need to make informed, responsible choices. Toward this end, we reach out to young people through our teen peer education programs, development sessions for high-risk youth, educational presentations to schools and community groups, and professional training for youth service providers.

Advocacy
Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette is a visible and powerful advocate for reproductive rights and reproductive health issues wherever public policy is deliberated and formed. Planned Parenthood has a strong public affairs department with a grassroots network of over 10,000 supporters and community-based Legislative Action Teams. Through our efforts, Oregon is one of only six states with no restrictions on abortion and family planning services.
