School Board Candidacy Development Project

Wouldn't it be rewarding to see children in the district you've helped shape get the best education possible?  Consider running for your School Board!!

If you are a current school board member, or have ever considered running, Planned Parenthood would like to meet you! You can also assist us in working with school site councils, parent groups, educators and staff to help us get the word out about our goals and implementing our programs.

Planned Parenthood believes that it is vitally important to re-introduce broad-based, comprehensive sex education into the public schools, as opposed to the abstinence-only-until-marriage education that is currently being supported at the federal and state level.  By providing comprhensive sexuality education, our young people will be able to make informed choices about contraception and personal sexual health.

It takes educated, informed school boards to effect these changes.  Through our School Board Candidacy Development Project, Planned Parenthood is making sure that candidates willing to stand up and support quality education can run for office.
