Generation S.E.E. Outcomes
Upon the completion of Generation S.E.E., a community of individuals will be trained to communicate effectively about human sexuality with the intent of creating a generation of sexually healthy young people.Upon completion of the Generation S.E.E. Family Life Education Program, Parents will:
- understand Generation S.E.E. course rationale.
- understand the need for healthy attitudes and behaviors for all members of society
- learn and practice communication skills for discussing sexuality with their children
- recognize and make a distinction between age-appropriate messages for their children
- obtain and have the ability to explore various community resources for sexuality education information
Upon completion of the Generation S.E.E. Professional Training Program, Teachers will:
- understand Generation S.E.E. course rationale
- understand the need for healthy attitudes and behaviors for all members of society
- learn and practice communication skills for discussing sexuality with their students
- recognize and make a distinction between age-appropriate messages for their students
- identify the basic function of reproductive anatomy
- comprehend the basic function of human sexual development focusing specifically on adolescent sexuality and pregnancy
- have a working knowledge of birth control methods, their efficacy rates and community resources for obtaining birth control
- recognize the symptoms of an sexually transmitted infection and list community resources for treatment
- identify the risk factors and behavioral indicators for teen pregnancy
- practice leading activities included in the Youth Sexuality Education program
- obtain and have the ability to explore various community resources for sexuality education information
Upon completion of the Generation S.E.E. Youth Sexuality Education Program, Students will:
- understand Generation S.E.E. course rationale
- comprehend and appreciate the need for healthy attitudes and behaviors for all members of society
- learn and practice communication skills for discussing sexuality with their parents, teachers, peers and partners
- identify the basic function of reproductive anatomy
- recognize the basic function of human sexual development focusing specifically on adolescent sexuality and pregnancy
- have a working knowledge of birth control methods, their efficacy rates and community resources for obtaining birth control
- recognize the risk factors for and symptoms of an STD and list community resources for treatment
- recite and practice using the R.E.A.L. negotiation method
- understand the purposes of dating and differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate dating behaviors
- examine and practice communication skills in relation to peer pressure and unhealthy behaviors
- set life goals including the areas of health, education, and community involvement
