Background In 2007, Planned Parenthood completed The Choice Project, a $6.6 million capital campaign for the construction of a new South Austin Clinic and the Education, Advocacy & Administration building.
Planned Parenthood is now raising an additional $60,000 to landscape the outdoor courtyard space that connects the two buildings.
Our vision is to transform the area into a garden sanctuary. It will be a quiet place where clients can go to reflect and gather their thoughts, as well as versatile space for community gatherings and events. Already, our new community room, next to the courtyard, has been used by the Komen Foundation, People’s Community Clinic, Lifeworks, The Texas Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, and many others.
Design The Courtyard will feature beautiful landscaping with native Texas plants and trees, as well as a circular seating area and fountain.
The Governor Ann W. Richards Fountain The focal point of the Courtyard will be the fountain, to be named in honor of the late Governor Ann W. Richards, who was a long time friend and advocate of Planned Parenthood. Governor Richards was instrumental in the planning stages of this ambitious project to serve our community.
