Community Outreach
Our community outreach includes free educational presentations throughout the community to help people make informed, and responsible choices regarding their sexuality and sexual health.
Recent examples of Planned Parenthood providing education in the community include:
• Participation in the Girl Empowerment Forum at UT Austin, the Pride Festival, and the Juneteenth festival.
• Teen education at the Austin Children’s Shelter with a focus on healthy relationships and STI prevention; and teen education and decision-making skills through the City of Austin’s Summer Youth Employment program (see more below, click to this info.).
• Educational sessions for female inmates at the Del Valle Jail with a focus on birth control options, STI prevention, healthy relationships, and female reproductive health.
