Choice for Generations Dinner with Anna Quindlen

Thank you to each of you who attended our Choice of Generations Dinner on November 6th with a sold-out crowd of more than 800 guests, Sunday’s 2011 Choice for Generations Dinner was Planned Parenthood’s most successful fundraiser ever! The event raised more than $650,000 to support high-quality health care and education services for low-income and uninsured Austin clients with a portion of the funds raised designated for the Austin Stands with Planned Parenthood campaign to specifically help clients t our E. 7th health center--Thank you Austin!

Keynote speaker, Anna Quindlen, gave a moving and inspiring reminder of why Planned Parenthood matters so much. We were pleased to honor the Clasquin Harslem familyRani Clasquin, Eric Harslem and Kate Harslem—with the Robbie and Tom Ausley Leadership Award for their steadfast commitment to improving health care access and enhancing education opportunities in the Austin community. Mayor Lee Leffingwell shared a proclamation designating Nov. 6th as Planned Parenthood Day in the City of Austin.

Thank you to our phenomenal co-chairs Aimee Boone and Beverly Reeves, who helped make the event such a success; to Senator Kirk Watson, our terrific Emcee; to Reverend Freddie B. Dixon for a moving invocation; to Alex Albright and Laura Scanlan Cho, our Board Chair and Vice-Chair; to Bonnie Mills, Chair of the Austin Stands with Planned Parenthood Campaign; and finally to each of you who joined us that night.
