Austin Stands with Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood health centers are under attack across the U.S. at a time when more and more people are relying on them.

Those targeted attacks hit close to home. Governor Rick Perry approved a state budget that singles out women’s health, eliminating more than 2/3 of funding for basic women’s health care services including life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings.

Effective September 1, Planned Parenthood in Austin’s Downtown Clinic on E. 7th Street will no longer receive $474,000 in federal/state funds that provide birth control and essential breast and cervical cancer screenings and HIV tests to more than 4,000 Austinites who depend on these services each year.

Today, you can help by donating to the Austin Stands with Planned Parenthood campaign to raise client assistance funds to ensure that the more than 4,000 clients who depend on our E. 7th Street health center are not turned away due to an inability to pay.

Make no mistake---this is part of a nationwide effort to discredit and defund Planned Parenthood specifically, and women’s health in general.

Will they win? Not on your watch.

You can help. By donating to Planned Parenthood’s Austin Stands with Planned Parenthood campaign, your donation will immediately help a client with essential health services.
