Planned Parenthood provides educational programs and presentations throughout the community.   Our audiences include schools, colleges, faith-based organizations, PTAs, groups of parents, criminal justice settings, shelters, and other nonprofit organizations.  Each presentation is based on curriculum designed to meet the needs of the participants, and new topics can be added as needed.

Our programs are based on the belief of comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education is an important way of providing young people with the information and skills they need to make responsible, informed choices about their sexual and reproductive lives. While parents are (and should be) the primary sexuality educators of their children, many parents and teachers seek help from schools and community-based organizations. Age-appropriate, medically accurate sex education is education that emphasizes the benefits of abstinence but also teaches about contraception and prevention of sexually transmitted infections.

For more information about our education department or to schedule a Planned Parenthood presentation, please contact Cynthia Brown, Health Educator at (512)275-0171 ext. 104 or at preventiongirl@ppaustin.org

All education services are provided by Planned Parenthood of Austin Family Planning (PPAFP). PPAFP is supported with some federal, state and local funding—no such funds are used by Planned Parenthood of Austin Surgical & Sexual Health Services or Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capial Region.
