Healthy Michigan Plan
The State of Michigan is offering its new health coverage program, the Healthy Michigan Plan, beginning April 1, 2014. The Healthy Michigan Plan is designed to make health care services available to low-income residents of Michigan.
You may qualify for the Healthy Michigan Plan if:
- you are age 19–64
- your income is at or below 133 percent of the federal poverty level (about $16,000 for a single person or $33,000 for a family of four)
- and you are a resident of the state of Michigan

If you are not eligible for any of these programs, you may still qualify for some other funding assistance to help pay for your services. However, you will need to show some form of proof of income. This is now a requirement for all clients. Some examples of income include:
- assistance from the government
- social security
- child support
- cash from family/friends
- military pay/veterans benefits
- rental property income
- student stipends
- foster parenting stipends
- any other financial assistance or support that you receive
