Let’s Talk About Sex – Film Screening and Panel Discussion – May 7, 2014

WHAT: Wednesday, May 7 is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day. To mark the occasion, Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is presenting James Houston’s one-hour film Let’s Talk About Sex (2009) followed by a 30-minute panel discussion. While the film is not rated, the content is geared to people ages 13 and older.
All Capital Region residents who want to have effective and meaningful conversations about sex and sexuality with teens and young adults are welcome. Parents and youth are encouraged to attend together. Packets will be provided to help parents, educators and teens continue the conversation. Interviews with local sex education and reproductive health experts are available before and after the event.
Let’s Talk About Sex offers a revealing look at how American attitudes toward adolescent sexuality affect today’s teenagers. It also examines how other nations have succeeded at protecting adolescent sexual health where the U.S. is failing.
