WHO                Public officials, media, invited guest, donors, college VOX groups, supporters and advocates.

Republican House leadership, in an extreme move out of step with mainstream American values, passed the Pence Amendment to the House Appropriations Continuing Resolution which bans ALL Planned Parenthoods from receiving any federal funds.  With the Medicaid and Title X funds that Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio (PPSWO) receives, we provide   preventive health care to over 18,000 women a year, including lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, annual exams, birth control, HIV testing, and STI testing and treatment.

More outrageously, PPSWO is the sole Title X provider in Speaker Boehner's district. Without PPSWO, low-income women in cities like Hamilton and Middletown will have nowhere to turn for routine gynecological and contraceptive health care.  It is difficult to understand why people who say they are opposed to abortion would do so much to undermine the family planning and contraception that helps prevent the need for it.

To make our voices heard, we are gathering at the largest Title X health center in Speaker Boehner's district to invite elected officials, the media and guests to learn exactly what is being cut. We want them to see the essential community services we provide, and we want them to see the people to whom they're denying those services.
