Abortion Access for Minors
If you are seeking an abortion in the Ft. Myers, St. Pete, Sarasota, Tampa or Winter Haven region of Florida and are age 17 or under, the Parental Notice of Abortion Act requires a parent or legal guardian is notified that you are planning on having an abortion.
Effective on June 30, 2006, the Parental Notice of Abortion Act requires all minor females, age 17 and under, to undergo a process for securing a safe and legal abortion. Women's health is a key priority of Planned Parenthood, and this extends to those females age 17 and under; if you are considering an abortion and are seeking guidance on the process, please call your local Planned Parenthood health center in one of the following locations: St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Tampa, Fort Myers, Lakeland, Manatee, or Winter Haven.
Effective October 1, 2011, the Parental Notification form must be notarized.
