A well-planned Will is the centerpiece of an effective and thoughtful life or estate plan. Planned Parenthood of Southern New England can be named as a charitable beneficiary for a specific bequest for a particular dollar amount or asset, a residual bequest for all or part of the property remaining in your estate after debts, expenses and specific bequests, or a contingent bequest in your Will or trust document.
If you wish to include PPSNE in your will, your attorney may wish to include the following language:
I hereby give, devise and bequeth ($ ________ or description of specific asset or __% of the rest, residue and remainder of my property, both real and personal), to Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, 345 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut 06511, for its general purposes.
Life Insurance and Retirement Plans
Life insurance policies may be used to create a legacy by naming Planned Parenthood of Southern New England as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of the policy.
By naming a charitable organization the beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or other federally-recognized retirement plan, you can help minimize estate, income and generation-skipping taxes on those funds. Through careful planning, you can make a general gift to a charitable organization while making sure your loved ones receive assets with the least tax exposure.

Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity (CGa) is both an annuity and a charitable gift. In exchange for an irrevocable gift of cash or publicly-traded securities, a charity will pay you, your spouse or designated beneficiary a fixed annual income for life.
Of all the gifts that pay you back, the CGA is the simplest, most affordable, and most popular. You make a gift to Planned Parenthood of Southern New England and, in return, PPSNE agrees to make fixed payments to your or your designated beneficiary for life. The gift agreement is a simple contract between you and Planned Parenthood. Your payments become one of our general obligations, fully backed by all our assets, and will not fluctuate.
Many organizations offer matching gift programs that will increase the impact of your contribution. Please check with your employer to determine whether you can increase the power of your gift by having them match the contribution.
