Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast recognizes the critical role of sexuality education in reducing the rate of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) including HIV.
Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast's Education Department now taking teens in Palm Beach & Miami-Dade counties to the "TOP"!
PPSFTC is a certified replication partner of Wyman's TOP Program!
Wyman's Teen Outreach Program (TOP) is an evidence-based program that aims to prevent teen pregnancy and increase academic success through a framework grounded in youth development.
Our Education Department is built on the belief system that youth should be valued and given all opportunities to grow and TOP provides the foundation for our facilitators to contribute to the Life Skills, Healthy Behaviors and a Sense of Purpose that the youth of our communities need during their journey through adolescence.
TOP promotes positive development through a combination of curriculum guided group discussion and engagement in community service learning.
PPSFTC's TOP Facilitators are currently focused on providing TOP to 1,172 youth in both Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties and are successfully implementing programming in after-school, in-school, and community based settings.
Through Susan G. Komen for the Cure South Florida funding, our Breast Health Community Educator provides life-saving education to reduce high risk behaviors, promote healthy lifestyles, and increase Breast Self-Awareness, knowledge of family history and early breast cancer screening, especially among teens and women of color.
