Our Mission

Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida is a private, nonprofit health care agency incorporated in 1971. Our affiliate was established in response to concerns about rising rates of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Our goals were, and remain, to provide affordable, compassionate reproductive health care services and to educate the community in all areas of responsible human sexuality.

The mission of Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida is to provide comprehensive sexual health care through the provision of clinical services, education and advocacy. We do so by understanding and responding to the needs of those seeking our services, and by protecting and respecting the essential privacy rights, dignity and culture of each individual.

Medical Services

Our skilled health care professionals are dedicated to offering our patients high-quality, affordable medical care. One in five American women has come to Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life. Our health centers across Florida provide a wide range of safe, reliable health care and more than 90 percent is preventive, primary care. Planned Parenthood provides life-saving screenings for breast and cervical cancer, helps prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, and reduces the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment. Our medical staff treats all patients with respect and provides them with the confidential, non-judgmental care that they deserve.

Education Programs

Planned Parenthood is a leading educator in the community on reproductive and sexual health topics. We deliver comprehensive and medically accurate information that empowers women, men, teens, and families to make informed decisions and lead healthy lives. Planned Parenthood is proud of its vital role in providing young people with honest sexuality and relationship information to help reduce alarmingly high rates of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. To accomplish this, we use the most sophisticated instrument in medicine: accurate information. Our innovative health education and teen outreach programs teach young people how to make healthy decisions, and train teachers, parents, and caregivers how to have honest, open discussions with the young people in their lives.
