Annual Book Sale
Thanks to the amazing support of community members, over $149,000 was raised through the sale of books, sponsorships, donations, gift certificates and opening night reception fees. This was a best year ever!
All year long, hundreds of volunteers donate their valuable time to sort and price books and appraise and price rare and collectible books. Before the sale, they shift thousands of boxes of books — from the sorting site to Earl Warren Showgrounds. During the sale, they set up tables and serve as cashiers and floor people. After the sale, they are there to break it all down.
Books are sorted and priced throughout the year in preparation for the sale. If you would like to volunteer during the year or work at the sale itself, call (805) 722-1522.
Books for the 2015 sale can be taken to the book sorting site located at 721 E. Gutierrez St. in Santa Barbara (located between Nopal and Quarantina Streets). We accept DVDs, video tapes and books on tape. We do not accept encyclopedias or magazines. Please box or bag your books before placing them in the donation trailer.
The 2015 Book Sale Opening Night Reception is Thursday, September 17, 5:00 - 9:00 pm. $30 admission opening night only.

On March 14th, 2014 over 320 supporters from across the tri-counties gathered at the Coral Casino in Santa Barbara to celebrate PPSBVSLO's 50th anniversary and raise $300,000 for health services, education programs and advocacy efforts. Guests enjoyed a "picture-perfect" sunset cocktail reception on the La Pacifica Terrace with entertainment provided by Extreme Stilt-Walker Eros Biox, a former Cirque de Soleil performer, photo opportunities with models in "condom couture," a boutique silent auction and a chance to win a pair of diamond earrings from Silverhorn Jewelers.
The dinner began and ended on a high note with the amazing singer Camille Umoff, currently a student at Santa Barbara High School. During dinner President and CEO, Cheryl Rollings, shared highlights of our affiliate's history and Planned Parenthood patients shared stories of how Planned Parenthood changed their lives. A big thank you to our tireless co-chairs, Leslie Bhutani and Lundy Reynolds, and our Gala Committee for a fantastic celebration event. We are profoundly grateful as well to all of you who attended our celebration and supported it so generously.
