When the coronavirus pandemic hit our nation several weeks ago, Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) committed to keeping its doors open – because our patients’ sexual and reproductive health care can’t wait.
Rather than shrinking in the face of this crisis, we set out to expand health care access while still ensuring the safety of our staff and patients in the midst of a pandemic.
We launched telehealth services so patients can get high-quality care from their trusted Planned Parenthood medical provider from their phone or computer. Not only that, providing more services via telehealth enables us to preserve critical PPE in order to care for patients whose health care needs must be addressed in-person.
In 29 days, PPPSGV has served more than 1,300 patients via Telehealth. Our licensed medical professionals are providing essential reproductive health care through telehealth for birth control, transgender hormone therapy, UTI evaluation, Emergency Contraception, and other electronically prescribed treatments.
Jamie Lee Curtis heard about PPPSGV launching telehealth and recorded a short video for us to show her support. Check it out!
PPPSGV was among the first Planned Parenthood affiliates to provide telehealth services, and our patients are so grateful.
One of our patients, a mother of three, needed treatment for her yeast infection. In addition to the stress of coronavirus, and her infection, her youngest child has autism and touches everything around him, making him particularly difficult to manage outside the house during this pandemic. She was moved to tears, when she learned that she could get the care she needed, while keeping her family safe, thanks to telehealth.

Your generosity supports our patients who rely on us for health care during this pandemic. Please give now so we can serve more patients through telehealth.
Please continue to stay safe and healthy, and know that we're always here to serve you.
