Donating Locally

Planned Parenthood affiliates are America’s most respected and trusted providers of sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy. Under the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) umbrella, there are 49 affiliates and more than 600 health centers. We at Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) are proud to be the fifth health center established nationwide, and we’ve been providing essential health care since 1933–that’s more than 90 years!

PPPSGV provides on-the-ground sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy for the local community across Northeast Los Angeles, Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley—and many more who come to us from across Southern California and who are traveling from out of state. We serve our community through our five health centers in Alhambra, Baldwin Park, Glendora, Highland Park, and Pasadena.

At the national level, PPFA sets medical standards for all Planned Parenthood affiliates in the United States and provides support to help ensure that the affiliates are providing high-quality health care consistent with the Planned Parenthood brand. All affiliates act as an independent entity with their own governing body and individual mission. PPFA also serves as a resource for policymakers and the media. PPFA is not a health care provider and does not provide health care services to patients.

When you donate to PPPSGV you are providing support for the expert sexual and reproductive health care services patients receive in our local health centers. We can estimate that for 60% of patients, PPPSGV is their only source of health care. With your support, patients can access mental health services, gender-affirming care, life-saving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of STDs, breast health services, Pap tests, health education, as well as both medication and in-clinic abortion.

Throughout the year, PPFA conducts separate, independent fundraising campaigns, and a portion of the funds raised by PPFA are shared with affiliates across the nation, including PPPSGV.

PPPSGV and PPFA are separate, independent organizations. Both PPPSGV and PPFA are both 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, and gifts to either are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
