Hollinger has over 20 years’ experience in the reproductive healthcare management and health administration fields

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC) has hired Krista Hollinger as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), where she will oversee the second largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the nation, covering nine health centers spanning Orange and San Bernardino Counties with comprehensive reproductive care and primary care services. She rejoins PPOSBC after previously serving as a program manager and development department grants manager for the organization early in her career.

“We are very fortunate to have Krista returning to PPOSBC as our COO,” said Jon Dunn, president and CEO, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties. “She brings a rare combination of great passion for our mission and a deep knowledge of our local health care system. Her work, in leadership roles, at two of the best hospitals in the area, has prepared her well for this role.”

Hollinger has over 20 years’ experience working in health administration and public policy, with extensive expertise in the reproductive healthcare management field. She previously served as chief administrative officer for Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine. There, she managed a $31 million budget and led a team of 115 reproductive health physicians, residents and fellows, clinical staff and business office staff members providing reproductive health care and physician training in two counties. Under Hollinger’s leadership, the hospital's ranking in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals in Gynecology list rose from #71 in 2015 to #16 in 2020. Additionally, during Hollinger’s tenure, the gynecology department has been the highest ranked program at UCI for the past four years, and has also been named Best Maternity Care Hospital by Newsweek for the past two years.

Prior to that, Hollinger served as chief administrative officer, Hematology/Oncology at UCI, and as ambulatory practice manager for St. Jude’s Heritage Healthcare. Hollinger’s passion for reproductive healthcare and women’s well-being is deeply rooted, and traces back to her graduate school days at University of California, Los Angeles where she received the Best Business Plan Award for her master’s thesis, “Reimagined Prenatal Wellness Center.”

“After starting my career at PPOSBC 15 years ago, I am thrilled to be returning,” said Hollinger. “The organization has grown tremendously and it’s inspiring to see our dedicated employees providing high quality, compassionate reproductive and primary care and community education in our two counties. Reproductive health access and justice are very important to me and I can’t think of a more critical time to be joining one of the most powerful voices in this movement.”

Hollinger is an alumnus of University of California, San Diego, as well as University of California, Los Angeles, where she received a Master of Public Health.
