PPNNE's peer education program seeks to empower high school student with accurate, factual reproductive and sexual health information to benefit themselves, their peers, and their community. Peer educators act as resources for their peers- by being knowledgeable about sexual health, by planning activities to improve the information that their peers have about sexual health, and by providing resources. 

Requirements for being a Peer Educator:

  • Be high school student at Burlington High School, South Burlington High School or Essex High School
  • Have an interest in providing accurate sexual health information to others.
  • Be able to balance school work and other activities and commitments.
  • Commit to attending training sessions and regular meetings weekly.
  • Respect diverse opinions, beliefs and values.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information.
  • Be able to make a one-year commitment to the program.
  • Have parent/guardian permission and the ability to arrange your own transportation to Burlington.
