Education, Training, and Community Outreach
Planned Parenthood Northern California has one of the largest Community Services and Education Programs in the country. PPNorCal provides comprehensive, responsible, age appropriate sexuality education and case management services to more than 44,000 teens, parents and adults annually. Our trained health educators and case managers design presentations, programs, and services which are tailored to the diverse needs of the communities they serve.
Planned Parenthood Northern California provides comprehensive, developmentally-appropriate, medically accurate sexuality education. We serve a wide variety of audiences with our education programs including elementary, middle, high school, and college students and staff; community organizations; faith-based organizations; families; correctional facilities; and more. Our trained health educators also provide community outreach and education at health and resource fairs. PPNorCal maintains Resource Centers at the Billie Long Resource Center in Concord, CA and at the Redding Health Center in Redding, CA. Our Resource Centers maintain a comprehensive collection of books, videos, periodicals, statistical resources, and curricula on a wide variety of topics. Information packets and fact sheets are available for research. In the Concord Resource Center we also have contraceptive, menstruation kits and other educational materials available for rent or purchase.
