St. Paul, MN—  Minnesotans and people across the globe are mourning the passing of former Vice President Walter Mondale. He was a strong supporter of reproductive freedom during his decades long career of public service. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Statement From Sarah Stoesz, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood North Central States:

“Across Minnesota and our country, today we mourn the loss of our dear friend and cherished leader, Walter Mondale. Through the decades, he was the epitome of a public servant and a decent human—unfailingly invested in the greater good, never his own self-interest.  He truly believed in public service as a higher calling and through his generosity as a leader and a mentor, he inspired so many of us to dedicate our own lives to making the world a better place for all.  Mondale built his life and career on the fundamental belief that government could and should improve people’s lives ,and he was indefatigable in the work he did on behalf of the people he served.  Today and always, we recommit ourselves to carry on his incredible legacy of generosity, integrity, hope, and tenacity.”
