Last year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers and interns helped support clinical services, education, and advocacy programs in our community.
We hope you will consider joining them in giving the gift of time. We have volunteer opportunities in our administrative offices in downtown Washington DC. Some volunteer work is done in the community at various events and venues around the metropolitan region.
DevelopmentVolunteers help the department with annual fundraising campaigns, special events, and donor cultivation through database maintenance, coordination of special event fundraisers, large direct mail campaigns, and community relations.
Public AffairsVolunteers solicit support from legislators and public officials, participate in grassroots advocacy activities, and serve as representative spokespersons. These duties can include short-term projects such as staffing an informational booth, writing letters to the editor, testifying at hearings, assisting with mailings or general office duties.
