"I feel strongly that when our children and theirs look back on the early years of the 21st century, they know we did everything we could to preserve and expand access to comprehensive sexual health
care, including abortion.
- Dianne Luby, President and CEO
As has been true since its earliest days, PPLM cannot do its work alone. It needs your support—morally, politically, and financially. The next generation’s children and grandchildren will have choices about their reproductive and sexual health and, therefore, their lives, only if all of us remain active and vigilant, only if PPLM continues, with adequate financial help, to work for the adoption and protection of policies that promote and protect sexual health. President/CEO Dianne Luby feels strongly, that "when our children and theirs look back on the early years of the 21st century, they know we did everything we could to preserve and expand access to comprehensive sexual health care, including abortion. That we did everything we could to preserve the right to make personal, private decisions. That we simply did everything we could."
For its 80th anniversary celebration, PPLM launched the largest Comprehensive Campaign in its history, Sexual Health Matters. Its goal is to raise $30,000,000, the amount required to change the sexual health conversation, expand comprehensive sex education across the state, and create easier access to quality clinical services for underserved and minority communities. Since the campaign launched, PPLM has built a new “green” Worcester Health Center and launched three Central Mass Health Centers in Fitchburg, Marlborough, and Milford that offer comprehensive family planning services. Through this expansion of services, PPLM has enhanced its ability to drive change in the public’s perception of PPLM. It has developed and distributed sexuality education programs to more schools, with 114 schools now using the Get Real middle and high school curricula. The preliminary results of a five-year third-party evaluation show that Get Real is working for boys and girls. PPLM continues to build grassroots strength, achieve legislative and policy goals, and expand its programs in the Latino community.
Please join us. You have the power to redefine the sexual health conversation, to save lives, and to improve the health of our nation. The time for change is now.
