teenREACH: Real Education About Choices for our Health

In fall 2008, Planned Parenthood of Kentucky launched its newpeer education program, teenREACH (formerly known as T.H.I.N.K.) in Louisville and the following year in Lexington.
PPKY has trained nearly 50 peer educators from 18 Kentucky high schools. Participating youth take part in an initial 28-hour training focused on issues ranging from anatomy and reproduction to healthy relationships and safer sex. Upon completion, teens are selected to become peer educators to educate other teens through formal presentations and everyday conversation. They also attend biweekly meetings to share their experiences and increase their knowledge as well as represent PPKY at community events.
For more information on how to become a PPKY teenREACH peer educator, please contact us.
teenREACH peer educators are also available to speak to your class or community group. Presentation topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Safer Sex
  • Sexuality 101
  • Talking to Your Parents about Sex
For all requests and inquiries, email ppky@ppfa.org or call 502.584.2471 ext. 1235 in Louisville or 859.252.8494 ext. 3121 in Lexington.

This program is made possible through the generous support of individual donors and grants received from the Gheens Foundation.
