Thank you for joining us at the annual Unitarian Universalist Women's Tea benefitting the Planned Parenthood of Hawaii Wahine Choice Fund!
The Women’s Tea on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu, was a great success!
The annual Women's Tea is sponsored by the Honolulu Unitarian Universalist Women's Federation (HUUWF) to help women who need abortions but who are unable to pay for them.
This year's Women's Tea featured readings from My Mama Monologues — a series of remembrances, vignettes, and stories about mothers. My Mama Monlogues is a creation from renowned Maui artist, author, and motivational speaker Pat Masumoto.
Ms. Masumoto read one of her personal recollections of her own mother who is very much alive and still "mothering" at 104 years of age. Sheila O'Keefe, PPHI Director of Development, also read excerpts.
Members of the Unitarian Women’s Federation helped found the Wahine Choice Fund and are instrumental in continuing to support this much-needed revolving loan fund.
Over the past 10 years, Wahine Choice has helped hundreds of women seeking reproductive choice.
