PPCNJ’s Picture Me program is an innovative, multi-session, education program that utilizes photography to teach life skills, encourage self-expression, and build self-esteem. Participants learn basic photography skills and take pictures that relate to a theme of their choosing. The theme will involve issues, feelings, and/or people who are important in their lives. Through their photographs, including a brief written description and open group discussion, participants are encouraged to express themselves by sharing a personal account of their photographs. This program helps young people to feel empowered and proud of who they are and what matters most to them.
