Planned Parenthood of New York City offers state-of-the-art training programs to ensure that professionals — medical practitioners, educators, social workers, and others — can provide the highest quality care. We also offer numerous educational programs to bring reproductive and sexual health information directly to young people and the adults most closely connected with them. Trainings for Professionals
Our Sexual & Reproductive Health Training Calendar describes the 25-30 trainings we offer annually at our headquarters and the customized on-site trainings we can conduct in other settings.
Through our Clinician Training Initiative (CTI), PPNYC addresses the critical shortage of medical professionals who have the skills and commitment to provide reproductive health care.
PPNYC’s HIV Integration Project helps family planning providers in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to incorporate HIV prevention, education, and testing into their full range of services.
We offer trainings on Public Insurance and Reproductive Health Care for family planning providers, managed care plans, community health organizations, and city and state agencies.
And we provide Capacity-Building Assistance to Organizations.

Our “Let’s Talk about Sex” workshops for young people help participants to learn and practice critical skills for communication and decision making.
Teen Advocate workshops are compelling theatrical skits about sexual health issues, which are written and performed by PPNYC’s teenaged peer educators for audiences of their fellow teens.
Adult Role Model workshops are conducted by community members who have been trained by PPNYC to teach fellow parents and caregivers how to talk knowledgeably and comfortably with their children about sex.
Immigrant Outreach workshops provide reproductive health education to African and Latino immigrants in their native languages, with sensitivity to their cultural backgrounds.
Sex Education in Schools
PPNYC provides workshops and trainings to the public schools and advocates for legislation and funding to promote comprehensive sex education.
International Programs
Margaret Sanger Center International, PPNYC’s international arm, provides training and technical assistance to its partners around the world to help these organizations to enhance their educational programs, clinical services, and advocacy.
