Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Services

The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Services (APPS) Program, supported by the New York State Department of Health, is an umbrella that encompasses a number of programs in the South Bronx that are addressing teen pregnancy. The APPS program links Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, Federation Employment and Guidance Service (FEGS), and Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) in a collaborative effort to close service gaps in the South Bronx. The programs sponsored by these agencies provide education, case management, referrals, and mentoring to at-risk, pregnant, and parenting adolescents up to the age of 21.

Learn more about the programs sponsored by each of these agencies.

The APPS Program has compiled a South Bronx Resource Guide that lists providers of a variety of health, legal, educational, and social services.

For more information about the APPS Program, contact Jacqueline Matuza, APPS Project Coordinator, at (212) 965-4841.
