Participants will understand the history, mission, and goals of Planned Parenthood.
Rationale
Planned Parenthood provides services that give individuals the tools they need to make voluntary, informed decisions surrounding sex and sexuality. Through education, individuals can begin to recognize how Planned Parenthood can assist them throughout the life cycle.
Performance Indicators
As a result of Planned Parenthood Services Education, participants will:
- Realize that family planning services were once illegal and unavailable
- Identify the founder of Planned Parenthood and the Birth Control Movement
- Understand Planned Parenthood's mission
- Understand the medical and counseling services available at Planned Parenthood
- Understand the educational services and resources available through Planned Parenthood
- Recognize how Planned Parenthood advocates for public policies that protect reproductive rights
- Identify local Planned Parenthood affiliates
