Gender Identity
Standard Participants will understand how socially construed gender roles can impact individual behavior and development.
Rationale Society has certain perceptions as to what it means to be "male" or "female." These perceptions are ever-present throughout the life cycle, fostering the belief that individuals are limited or restricted because of their gender. This may have an impact on a person's behavior, relationships, and development. Through awareness of society's ideas about gender, individuals can be encouraged to form their own identities.
